With the Netball World Cup Sydney 2027 (NWC2027) coming to Australia next year, an ambitious new vision has been launched to ensure the impact of the tournament extends well beyond the event itself.
HerPower27: Netball’s Legacy Vision is a coordinated national legacy plan and framework to harness the attention of one of the world’s premier women’s sporting events and translate it into lasting benefits for communities across Australia and abroad.
Aligning to Netball Australia’s Made in Netball 2025–2035 strategic plan, HerPower27 focuses on strengthening existing community sport infrastructure, including pursuing investment for local clubs, volunteers, facilities and participation pathways, and supporting continued improvements in health, wellbeing, leadership and social connection.
At a time where young women and girls are being inspired to spend time off their screens and being active, HerPower27 identifies what can be achieved when government, sport and the private sector collaborate to drive investment.
