By mid-morning, the ambition for NWC2027 was clear: more than 200,000 fans across the tournament's 64 matches.
It would make Sydney's 2027 edition the most attended Netball World Cup ever staged. It's a bold number, but after this morning, it speaks to the bold ambition of the 17th world championships.

"Netball has a great history in Sydney. In 1991, I was an 18 year old watching at the Entertainment Centre. 10,000 fans in the house, the Prime Minister was there, Australia won by a goal. We want to do the same thing this time round. That game put netball on the map and we are now taking it places.
"We know that there is an enormous interest for tickets. 200,000 people through the turnstiles come the Netball World Cup next year, we think is imminently achieveable, all trying to get their hands on the trophy."
